53rd season of The Late Late Show to be sponsored by Sky Broadband

Deal for Ireland’s most watched show coincides with new Sky Broadband ad campaign

Sky Broadband has announced it is to renew its sponsorship of the most watched show on Irish television, as The Late Late Show prepares for its second season with Sky Ireland.

The show on RTE Television returns for its 53rd season on Friday 5th September, with host Ryan Tubridy kick-starting the sponsorship when the show first airs at 9.35pm on RTE One.

As part of the deal with Sky Ireland, the sponsorship will include stings around The Late Late Show, as well as an online presence.

An average audience of 612,000 viewers tuned into watch the show last season, while the Late Late Toy Show 2013 saw its highest viewing figure on record, with 1.5 million people tuning in on the night.

The latest sponsorship deal coincides with Sky Broadband’s latest efforts to promote the reliability of its service via a ‘Toy Story That Time Forgot’ themed ad.

“We’re delighted to renew our sponsorship of the perennially popular The Late Late Show, ” said JD Buckley, Managing Director, Sky Ireland.

Mr Buckley said the move would “extend the reach of our unlimited, value, and reliability messages to consumers, and demonstrate Sky Broadband’s commitment to providing our customers with all the support they need to keep them online”.

Geraldine O’Leary, ‎Commercial Director, RTÉ Television, echoed those thoughts and added that the deal is “a testament to the strength and impact of the programme”.
