Dundrum welcomes UPC’s interactive Horizon TV stand
UPC introduce new Horizon Heroes interactive stand in Dundrum Town Centre to showcase their popular new Horizon TV service
UPC will follow on from the launch of their new Horizon TV package by hosting an interactive stand in Dundrum Town Centre.
Shoppers will be able to play ‘Horizon Heroes’, enabling them to dress up in a range of outfits previously worn by superstars – but all without taking off a single item of clothing.
The purpose-built stand will be situated outside House of Fraser in the main entrance to the Town Centre, and will offer a vast array of outfits for people to try.
Dublin digital start-up Von Bismark developed the experience using Microsoft’s Kinect Technology and UPC is keen for people to experience the extraordinary.
Using motion sensors the user just needs to point to the outfits they want to try before the system then dresses them virtually.
This enables people to try on the attire they’ve always dreamed of wearing, so people can look like the stars of movies and TV, with virtually no effort at all.
So far, popular outfits have included Marilyn Monroe’s famous dress, Harrison Ford’s famous character Indiana Jones and Mitch Buchannan from Baywatch.
For those that fancy something a little different, it’s also possible to become Ireland’s favourite puppet Bosco and relive childhood memories.
Once the user is settled on their choice of outfit, they have their picture taken and it can then be uploaded to a social network of their choice.
Horizon TV is delivered through UPC’s fibre power network, allowing customers to surf the web, call family and friends and watch TV all from one box.
TV is brought to life by UPC and the interactive stand intends to show just how easily it can be done.
Horizon Heroes will be on show between the 5th and 8th of September, with plans in the pipeline for additional locations.
There’s also an opportunity to win an iPad by answering the question, ‘How many shows can you record at the same time with Horizon TV from UPC?’.
