eir has confirmed that, as of April 1st, it purchased popular sports channel Setanta Sports.

The moved has pushed eir into the content space, an exciting development for the Irish broadband & TV provider. Setanta Sports offers a great range of exclusive sporting content, such as live Barclays Premier League games, UEFA League Games, all Formula 1 races, and live Allianz Leagues GAA games, to name just a few. BT Sport 1, BT Sport 2, BT Sport Europe & BT Sport ESPN will also be available as part of the Setanta Sports pack in the Republic of Ireland.

This development will not affect the service of customers who are subscribed to Setanta Sports, through eir, Virgin Media, or Vodafone.

New customers wishing to subscribe to Setanta Sports should contact Setanta Sports directly, or their current provider.
