Good news for Virgin Media TV customers - the UKTV channels are back!

They were added back to the platform on Saturday.

Last month, the news broke that five channels - Gold, Dave, Alibi, W and Gold+1 - were being removed from Virgin Media TV, with CBS Reality, CBS Action, Horror Channel and CBS Drama added to take their place.

However, it was confirmed on Saturday that the UKTV channels, which were removed only a few weeks ago, are now back on the platform.

Virgin Media said it had reached a long-term agreement with UKTV, which is good news for customers who were missing UKTV originals like Taskmaster, Judge Romesh, and Emma Willis: Delivering Babies, as well as classic shows like Top Gear, QI, Mock the Week, Only Fools and Horses, and Absolutely Fabulous.

The channels were all added back to the Virgin Media Ireland TV service from Saturday, the 11th, and UKTV’s programming on Virgin TV Anywhere is also back, so customers can watch programmes while they’re on the move.

Speaking about the return of the channels, Virgin Media Ireland’s Vice President of Commercial, Paul Farrell, said: “We listened to the feedback from our customers over recent weeks and have worked hard to reach this agreement with UKTV.”

He added: “Our customers now have all the Dave, Alibi, Gold and W channels back as well as the additional 4 CBS channels, which is a great outcome and a signal of our commitment to listening and delivering great content to customers.”

There’ll be even more change for Virgin Media customers in the coming weeks, with the launch of Virgin Media Sport, which will be available to all Virgin Media TV customers free of charge.
