Irish broadband and home phone provider Magnet recently revamped its TV offering with the launch of a new TV package.

Priced at €2.99 per month, Aertv Platinum is an online TV add-on subscription, available exclusively to new and existing Magnet customers.

Aertv is a division of Magnet Networks, offering a free online television service available to all viewers in Ireland. Its free format Aertv Basic, provides 16 TV channels and anybody with at least a 1Mb internet connection can make full use of the service free of charge.

New and existing Magnet subscribers have the option of purchasing Aertv Platinum from only €2.99 per month extra, in addition to any Magnet broadband or broadband and phone package.

With Aertv Platinum, Magnet customers can access up to 34 channels online, with streamed broadcast TV through any laptop, PC, tablet or mobile device.

The service includes all the channels available with Aertv basic as well as some of the most well known popular channels in Ireland. The full list of channels available include:

RTÉ One, RTÉ Two, TV3, TG4, 3e, RTÉ One+1, RTÉ News Now, RTÉ Jr, Dail Eireann, Seanad Eireann, Aertv Live, Aertv Movies, Aertv Music, Aertv Sport, Unravel Travel, DCTV, BBC1, BBC2, BBC Three, BBC Four, BBC News 24, CBBC, Cbeebies, France24, RT, MTV, VH1, Viva, Nickelodeon, Nicktoons, NickJr, Comedy Central, Comedy Central Extra, Euronews.

As with Magnet’s broadband and home phone services, there is no contract involved with Aertv Platinum, making it an ideal choice for viewers who want to subscribe to a TV service with minimal fuss.

With more consumers changing their viewing habits, and as the shift towards viewing TV content online and with video on demand services continuing to grow, Magnet’s Aertv service represents a real and viable alternative to traditional paid TV subscriptions.

Although the service may lack the number of channels and the range of interactive facilities customers can get with the likes of Sky and UPC, Aertv Platinum offers consumers real value with the TV content it does provide for a relatively low €2.99 monthly subscription fee.
