New eircom initiative set to give GAA fans an extra voice
‘Your Shout Counts’ becomes latest eircom addition to the football championship
eircom have announced a brand new format which will give GAA fans the chance to cheer on their favourite championship players every week.
The ‘Your Shout Counts’ initiative will give GAA fans throughout the country the chance to have their say on everything from player performances to controversial match incidents. Roscommon and Kerry stars Donie Shine and Colm Cooper were in Croke Park this past week to promote the new initiative.
Liam Ó Néill, President of the GAA, voiced his enthusiasm for the new format and what it will add to the season.
“On behalf of the GAA, we are delighted with our continued partnership with eircom. Interactive platforms like ‘Your Shout Counts’ and Win, Lose or Draw keep the excitement of match day going, and bring the fans even closer to the game,” he suggested.
Kevin White, Managing Director of eircom Consumer, was equally positive about the initiative. He suggested that it will “bring the debate around the best teams and best players to life” across the duration of the championship.
The initiative is part of a number of changes which have been made towww.eircom.ie/gaa, all of which are designed to give GAA fans the chance to make the 2014 Senior Football Championship the most interactive championship ever.
Through the site, fans will have increased access to various insights and opinions as well as the chance to enter competitions which include match tickets as a prize.
Fans can also make predictions about the outcome of games and play the role of pundit as we move through the provincial stages and head rapidly towards the quarter finals in early August.
The big guns such as Dublin, Mayo and Donegal are just starting to enter the fray and there are certain to be a number of stories as key players find top gear and new debates emerge for discussion.
eircom customers have never had a chance like this to contribute to those new debates and the super-fast broadband provider has certainly added a new dimension to the 2014 Senior Football Championship.
