RTÉ One HD now available to Sky TV customers

Ireland’s popular channel now part of widest range of HD channels

Sky TV customers across Ireland can now access the country’s most popular channel as RTÉ One HD is now available as part of the firm’s offering.

All Sky HD customers can access their favourite shows over the festive period in quality five times better than that of standard programming.

Christmas specials of Mrs Brown’s Boys’ and a new Rebellion drama series are just some of the programming available via RTÉ One HD.

The channel joins RTÉ 2 HD, TV3 HD and UTV Ireland HD as part of Sky’s HD offering, meaning the four most popular channels in Ireland are available in HD.

It means Sky HD TV customers can access 75 channels in higher definition, covering news, sports and entertainment.

Providing a wider choice for Sky HD customers

Ann- Marie MacKay, Director of Products and Customer Growth at Sky Ireland, said Sky that its partnership with RTÉ is continuing before adding that it Sky TV customers with a wider choice of quality programming. 

Glen Killane, Managing Director, RTÉ Television said the move provides Sky audiences across Ireland with “significantly more access to RTÉ services and programming.

He added that they have more choice and flexibility with the RTÉ One +1 channel also part of the deal – found at EPG position 115 for Sky customers.

RTÉ’s 24 hour news channel, RTÉ News Now, is due to be added to Sky’s offering in the early part of 2016 too while RTÉ Player content is due to be added to Sky On Demand later in the year as well.
