From today, Sky TV customers can watch RTÉ Player through the Sky Go and Sky Q apps.

The apps, which are available on laptops, tablets and compatible mobile devices, already give Sky TV customers access to up to 70 live entertainment channels and thousands of hours of on demand content at no extra cost.

The addition of RTÉ Player is sure to be a hit for Irish Sky customers who will now be able to catch up on the likes of Fair City, The Late Late Show, and RTÉ News while on the move.

“Even more of the best TV”

Speaking about the news today, Ann-Marie MacKay, Director of Customer Growth at Sky Ireland, said, “The addition of RTÉ Player to Sky Go, joining TV3 and UTV Ireland’s players to our on-the-go service, gives customers even more of the best TV in a way that’s easy, flexible and fits into their lifestyles.”

The move is part of a long-term partnership between Sky and RTÉ, following the launch of RTÉ Player on the Sky set top box in July.

Already, 55% of RTÉ Player streams are delivered to mobile. Aoife Byrne, Director of Content & Products at RTÉ said: “The addition of RTÉ Player on Sky Go ensures that our offering is made even more widely available for audiences to watch when and where they want to.”
