Saorview, Ireland’s free national digital television service, has launched a new mobile app, which allows Saorview viewers to plan what they’re going to watch.

The app features a 7-day programme guide, a new recommendations service called Spotlight, and links to on demand players. Viewers can use the app to:

  • search for specific programmes on TV and radio; and
  • set reminders for their chosen programmes or series.

Later in the year additional features will be added, including a ‘backwards guide’, so viewers can watch on-demand shows they missed over the past few days. Users will also be able to manage their recordings with the Saorview app and use the app as a remote control for their Saorview Connect box when this launches later in the year.

Saorview is a subscription-free, HD service that has 9 channels, including RTÉ One HD, RTÉ Two HD, TV3, TG4 and 3e.

The Saorview app is designed to work on mobiles and tablets, Android and Apple, and is available for free from both Google Play and the App Store.
