On 16 October at 9pm, Sky Atlantic HD will premiere a new drama series entitled The Knick, starring Eve Hewson, daughter of U2’s Bono and Ali Hewson, alongside Clive Owen.

The Knick will run for ten episodes, each directed by Steven Soderbergh - the filmmaker best known for such movies as Side Effects and Solaris.

The series takes place in New York in 1900. Its central location is the Knickerbocker Hospital, an institution staffed by a range of maverick medical professionals including Dr John W Thatcher (played by Clive Owen) and nurse Lucy Elkins (Eve Hewson). The employees of Knickerbocker Hospital are known for their drive to save their patients - no matter how many rules or regulations they break in the process.

The lead actors will be familiar to many viewers as Hewson previously appeared in films such as This Must Be the Place and Enough Said, while Owen can be recognised from Hemingway & Gellhorn and Children of Men.

Sky is sure to have a new hit on its hands with this series, a great new addition to the ever-popular medical drama genre which will certainly attract a good number of fans during its ten-episode run.
