Sky Sports 4 transforms into dedicated Ryder Cup channel with exclusive coverage

Sky Sports has taken golf coverage to a higher level with their unprecedented focus on the upcoming Ryder Cup.

Sky has vowed to provide up to three days worth of live sessions, as well as coverage of the opening ceremony, interviews with players, analyses and event highlights.

The Exhibition Match will also be screened by Sky live on YouTube for the first time. In addition, users of the Sky Sports website can avail of near live coverage from Gleneagles, as well as build-up, a live blog and a host of other features. Sky’s mobile apps will also enable iPad users to experience much that this competition has to offer, such as a player tracker and extended highlights.

Commenting on the line up, Sky Sports managing director Barney Francis said, “Our dedicated channel will tell the complete story; fascinating features, comprehensive build up, and of course live coverage of all three days. We can’t wait.”

Many well-known personalities will add to the mix including David Livingstone, Darren Clarke, Ewen Murray, Mark Roe and Rob Lee. Thus, fans of the tournament can expect expert coverage alongside a host of events to choose from. Some notable features of the event will include:

  • Tuesday, September 23rd: The history of this event.
  • Thursday, September 25th: The Celebrity Challenge.
  • Saturday, September 27th: Live foursomes matches.
  • Monday, September 29th: A review of the entire competition.
