UPC brings free WiFi to Dublin’s EastPoint office park
50 businesses and 6,000 employees to benefit from free WiFi coverage
The only city-centre based office park in Ireland’s capital is set to receive a considerable boost as a free fibre power broadband service powered by UPC Business is being launched.
With over 50 Irish and multinational companies and as many as 6,000 employees, the park is a thriving business community in Ireland.
At present, it is the only office park to offer free public Wi-Fi access in the country.
Free WiFi access powered by UPC
Available to employees and visitors, the free WiFi will cover the entire park, which spans 40 acres. Connections will be available 24/7 so that those using the service can gain access at any time or place – something which has understandably gained praise from the park.
Park Manager, Jane Cross, expressed delight at being the first Irish office park to be fully Wi-Fi enabled.
“We’ve enjoyed a long relationship with UPC having their Irish head office in the park and this new service is a fantastic and welcome addition to the existing range of on-site amenities available to employees and visitors,” she said.
Lord Mayor of Dublin, Oisín Quinn, also showed full support for the broadband upgrade at the park by explaining the role it can have for the business community as a whole.
“In today’s business world it’s all about staying connected,” he said. “More and more people are doing business on the go. However, while they possess the technology to remain connected, they don’t always have the service. UPC’s new WiFi service will now provide this free of charge.”
Better for business
UPC Business, who is delivering the fibre power broadband to EastPoint, is a leading broadband provider in Ireland which also offers TV and phone packages.
Their desire to succeed means they are constantly looking for new innovations to embrace, as their CEO, Magnus Ternsjö, explained:
“As Ireland’s leading award winning broadband, TV and telephony provider, we’re constantly innovating and looking at new ways to improve offerings to our customers. What better way to do that than to offer our fibre power digital services to all 6,000 staff members and visitors to companies in EastPoint where we have been based for almost fifteen years.”
