UPC has announced a set of deals for Irish sports fans signing up to their Horizon TV service this summer.

UPC customers will be able to access the 5 premium Sky Sports channels for only €1 per month for six months when they sign up to either a Horizon TV package, or a broadband and phone bundle with Horizon TV.

Existing UPC customers with home phone and broadband will also be able to gain access to the deal if they upgrade to Horizon TV as part of a Horizon Triple Play bundle.

It means UPC customers can gain access to Sky Sports as the new Premier League season kicks-off while they’ll also be able to see Rugby Union, Rugby League, Formula 1 and NFL action, as well as top European football on the new Sky Sports 5channel being launched in August.

Sky Sports also has exclusive golf coverage of the Ryder Cup, as well as UFC and GAA action from the senior football and hurling championships.

Optional extras

New UPC customers can also add Setanta Sports, which includes BT Sports 1 and 2 and ESPN, for an additional €10 per month and Sky Sports HD for an additional €5.

The addition of multi-room viewing is also available for UPC customers at an extra €5 per month, while movie packages can be added for €9 per month, all available when purchasing the Sky Sports €1 deal.

Existing UPC broadband and phone customers can upgrade to Horizon TV services as part of a Triple Play bundle in order to take advantage of the €1 Sky Sports offer.

Additionally the Setanta Sports package is available to existing UPC TV customers for only €5 per month for the first six months, if they upgrade to a Horizon bundle with Sky Sports. After the six months the cost of the Setanta Sports package will revert to €10 per month.

After the initial 6 month discount period the cost of Sky Sports package will change back to €37 per month for all UPC customers who subscribe to the deal. New and existing customers will have to sign an 18-month contract when availing of the new sports offers.

UPC focus on value

“We’re making sure sports fans won’t miss a moment of the action with a one-stop-shop for all their favourite sports,” explained Mark Coan, vice president of sales and marketing at UPC Ireland.

“Our combination of great content and unbeatable value will allow fans to follow their favourite sports without putting too much pressure on their pockets.”

The Horizon TV service was launched in the summer of 2013 and is delivered via UPC’s fibre-powered network in Ireland.

With UPC, customers can record up to four programmes at once while watching a fifth, alongside phone and internet services.
