Providing BT Sport’s new sports channels alongside Setanta and redeveloped ESPN channels, a whole new world of live sporting coverage awaits.

With four premium sports channels, including BT Sport 1 and 2, ESPN and Setanta 1, as well as three HD Channels, UPC’s customers can get their sporting fix in the comfort of their own home.

The broadband, home phone and digital TV provider already offers Setanta Ireland as part of its package, but Premier League fans and sports lovers in general will want to subscribe to the Setanta Plus Sports Pack to experience the largest selection of top sporting action.

As well as TV access, UPC customers will be able to watch their favourite sports online and on mobile devices through the provider’s Horizon TV Online service and Horizon TV smartphone and tablet app.

Comprehensive Premier League coverage

The Setanta Plus Pack on UPC features more than 70 Premier League games over the course of the season, 18 of which are ‘top pick’ clashes between the league’s heavyweights.

Cup football will also be available to UPC customers with the Setanta Plus package, with 25 FA cup ties throughout the course of the upcoming season.

Football from around Europe, along with top flight rugby, UFC, Moto GP and a host of sports from across the pond will also be at the fingertips of UPC customers with the premium sports package.

“Today’s announcement is the biggest groundbreaking moment our sport-loving customers will experience this season,” said Magnus Ternsjö, CEO of UPC Ireland.

“For the very first time UPC will offer the largest selection of top class sports action from the very best broadcasters and all under one brand name.”

The wealth of new channels and sports coverage available with the Setanta Plus Pack is in addition to UPC’s existing sports coverage.

This includes live coverage of Allianz NFL games, League of Ireland football and both Champions League and Europa League clashes, along with F1, NASCAR and horse racing.

Michael O’Rourke, Founder and CEO of Setanta Ireland, said that the new UPC package gives customers an unrivalled choice of sport for the season ahead.

“We are very committed to bringing Setanta Pack viewers the very best in live sport and the recent addition of BT Sport 1, BT Sport 2 and ESPN to our pack means that UPC customers will have access to this great content,” he said.

“In our opening games of the season we have 6 Man United, 6 Liverpool and 6 Arsenal games.  This is great news for Sports fans on UPC.”

New customers can enjoy the first two months of this premium sports package absolutely free by signing up before the end of September.

The Setanta Premium Standalone package costs €16 a month for new customers, while existing customers face no changes to their current price plans.

Existing customers who already have the UPC HD add-on will face no extra cost for HD services while those who wish to see sport in high definition will require the €5.00 add on.
