Virgin Media staff with mobile phones at opening of retail store

Virgin Media is opening stores in Dublin, Galway & Waterford

This will create 15 jobs

Earlier today, Virgin Media confirmed it will increase its high street footprint by opening further retail stores across Ireland.

The company has already opened stores in Limerick, Cork and Dublin in the past two years.

And over the next 12 months it will open stores at Stephen’s Green Shopping Centre in Dublin, Eyre Square Shopping Centre in Galway and Georges Street in Waterford, bringing the total number of own-branded stores to six.

“Passionate about bringing content and technology to life”

Speaking about the new stores, Vice President at Virgin Media, Paul Farrell, said: “By the end of 2017 we will have a high street presence in five of Ireland’s key cities, allowing us to drive further growth whilst communicating the benefits of Virgin Media’s products to consumer’s first-hand.

He added: “We’re passionate about bringing content and technology to life and having a strong store network will provide our customers with a truly ‘Virgin’ experience at every touch point.”

The stores will be operated by Virgin Media’s new retail partner, TCCL Limited.

Director of TCCL, Con Lehane, said that this was partnership was a “fantastic opportunity for TCCL to partner with a world class brand and create a chain of experiential stores throughout Ireland”.

He added: “These staffed sales facilities will showcase Virgin Media’s quad-play offering of broadband, TV, home phone and mobile.”

Mr. Lehane also noted that the partnership has already created 15 new positions and - as more high street stores open - it will create a small number of local jobs, with staff receiving intensive product and customer service training.
