Virgin Media Sport adds SIX new sports channels and announces UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League fixtures

The 'Extra' channels mean fans have access to all games across the Champions and Europa Leagues

This morning, Virgin Media Sport announced that it is adding an additional six sports channels (Virgin Media Sport Extra 1-6) in order to ensure all of its customers have access to all games across the Champions and Europa Leagues.

The group stages of the UEFA Champions League start next Tuesday (18 September) and Virgin Media Sport will be there right from the start, with Barcelona v PSV Eindhoven kicking off at 5.55pm. At the same time, Inter Milan v Tottenham will be broadcast live on Virgin Media One (formerly TV3).

Then, at 8pm, a host of games will be broadcast across Virgin Media Sport and Virgin Media Sport Extra 1-5, including:

  • Liverpool v Paris SG
  • Monaco v Atletico
  • Red Star Belgrade v Napoli
  • Brugge v Borussia Dortmund
  • Schalke v Porto
  • Galatasaray v Lokomotiv Moscow.

How do I get access to Virgin Media Sport?

Virgin Media TV customers get access to Virgin Media Sport and Virgin Media Sport Extra 1-6 as part of their TV package, so if you already have Virgin Media TV, you automatically have access.

Meanwhile, Virgin Media broadband and phone customers can get access to all of the Virgin Media Sport content free for the first two months, and then for just €10 per month thereafter, via the Virgin Media TV Anywhere App.

Anyone who’s not with Virgin Media will be charged €20 per month for access to the Virgin Media TV Anywhere App.

If you’re a Virgin TV customer, you’ll be able to record, replay, pause and watch archived matches and footage on-demand through the Virgin TV box.

Meanwhile, if you’re using the TV Anywhere App, you can also simply press start-over during any live match to be brought right back to kick-off time.
