Energia offers New Year savings worth up to €307
Energia is offering households the opportunity tosave €307 on their home energy bills if customers sign up by the end of January.
From 23 December, Energia is giving households an extra 1% discount on both electricity and gas in what it describes as an “unbeatable dual fuel bundle”.
It means customers will get a 17% discount on electricity and a 16% discount on gas should they opt for the supplier. This will save the average household €307 a year on Energia’s standard unit rates – a much welcomed Christmas present. To benefit from the new offer, customers need to visit www.energia.ie and use promo code SAVE307at any point before Saturday 31 January.
The new 17% discount represents the current cheapest dual fuel tariff available in the residential market at present. Those opting to switch to Energia’s gas or electricity only tariffs, can also avail of a 16% discount on either single fuel.
This works out at a saving of €174 on their standard electricity unit rate and €133 on their standard gas unit rate. To avail of the offers, new customers will need to enter into a 12 month agreement with Energia and will be required to pay by Direct Debit and sign up to paperless billing.
‘A generous discount’
Geoff Codd, Head of Marketing at Energia, said the firm was “delighted” to be offering the “generous discount” on home energy bills. He said the potential saving comes “on top of the already great savings” that the firm offers, adding that it is “a great move in January when budgets are traditionally tight”. “Since we entered the home energy market last January, Energia has consistently offered Irish households the best value dual fuel bundle in the Irish market”, he explained.
“This message is getting through to Irish consumers and thousands have already taken advantage of Energia’s unbeatable home energy offers.” Mr Codd also highlighted recent Commission for Energy Regulation (CER) figures that revealed a record number of customers switching to the supplier in September when 4,576 customers opted for their gas services and nearly 8,000 new customers switched to their electricity tariffs. The energy supplier also claims to have saved customers more than €13 million on annual energy costs since launching in January 2014.
