SSE Airtricity now offering new customers 17% discount on electricity and 12% on gas

Today, SSE Airtricity has launched two new customer tariffs catering for both electricity only and dual fuel customers. Both tariffs are available to new customers who sign up to a 12 month contract.

The discounted price plans are only available for a limited period, with both offers set to end 31 July 2014. With energy costs on the rise, the introduction of a 17% discount on electricity and 12% on gas will come as welcome news for consumers.

The new discounted tariffs now represent SSE Airtricity’s best introductory discounts available. SSE Airtricity now boasts the second cheapest electricity only tariff in the market while their new discounted dual fuel tariff is also the second cheapest available.

Electricity only SSE Airtricity’s 1 Year Electricity (Direct Debit & eBill) gives new customers a 17% discount on their standard electricity unit rate if customers opt to pay by direct debit and subscribe to online billing. Lower discounts are also on offer for customers who opt for alternative payment and billing methods:

  • 1 Year Electricity (Direct Debit & Post) - 13% discount
  • 1 Year Electricity (No Direct Debit & eBill))- 10% discount
  • 1 Year Electricity (No Direct Debit & Post) - 6% discount

A €25 cancellation fee applies for customers who wish to leave their contract within the minimum 12 month period.

SSE Airtricity has also introduced a new dual fuel tariff. New customers can take advantage of a 17% discount on electricity and 12% on gas, if they opt for 1 Year Dual Fuel (Direct Debit & eBill) price plan. Lower discounts are also on offer with other billing and payment variations:

  • 1 Year Dual Fuel (Direct Debit & Post) - 13% off electricity & 10% off gas
  • 1 Year Dual Fuel (No Direct Debit & eBill) - 10% off electricity & 6% off gas
  • Dual Fuel (No Direct Debit & Post, 1 year contract) - 6% off electricity & 4% off gas

The table below highlights the current cheapest dual fuel tariffs available based on the national average consumption.
