Leaving Certificate results are out today and this marks an anxious time for both students anticipating results, and their parents.

If you are feeling stressed about the post-Leaving Certificate options, you might be glad to hear that there is help at hand. For over 20 years the Exam Helpline provided by The National Parents Council Post Primary (NPCpp), and supported by eir, has been there to help parents and students who are seeking advice, up-to-date information on the choices available, and guidance on next steps.

The Helpline is staffed by members of the Institute of Guidance Counsellors, and is open from 10am today, Wednesday, 17th August. Last year, the Helpline number received 2,500 calls, and this number is expected to rise this year. eir has said that the company is delighted to be on board again, supporting the important work of the Helpline.

If you’d like to make a call to the Exam Helpline, you can do so by dialling Freephone 1800 265 165 on any of the following dates and times:

  • Aug 17th and 18th - 10am to 7pm

  • Aug 22nd and 23rd 8am to 7pm (this is day the CAO offers come out, and the day following)
