Irish internet service provider Magnet, received another welcome boost yesterday with the announcement that they achieved the number one position as the fastest ISP in Ireland for the month of April according to the latest Netflix ISP Index.

This is the third month running that Magnet have maintained the number one position by the index. The Netflix ISP Speed Index website aggregates performance results from its worldwide members and allows consumers to see which internet providers offer the best Netflix performance. The listed speeds reflect the average performance of all Netflix streams on each ISP’s network and are an indicator of the performance typically experienced across all users on a network.

Internet service providers in Ireland were ranked third best globally for the second month in a row after the US and UK.

Magnet, Irelands highest ranked ISP achieved the highest average speed of 2.23 Mbps, an increase  of 0.03Mbps on the previous result for the month of March.

With its service delivering average speeds of 2.23 Mbps, Magnet was 0.38 Mbps faster than its nearest rival UPC and 0.46Mbps faster than Digiweb, the third highest ranked provider in Ireland.

This good news for Magnet comes ahead of the launch of their new high-speed internet service at the end of May. The Fatpipe Fibre service will provide a super-fast 70Mb internet connection to over half a million homes in Ireland this year and a further 700,000 once the roll-out is complete.
