Sky Go Explained

Everything you need to know about setting up and how to use Sky Go

Sky Go is a great new service that allows you to watch Sky programming on your mobile devices on the go. Supported devices in Ireland include laptops, Xbox 360, select tablets and mobile phones with a WiFi, broadband or 3G connection.

Sky customers now have the capability to watch all their favourite sports, movies, and TV programming on devices other than a regular TV. Sky Go provides customers with multiple different device platforms such as smartphones, laptops, Xbox 360 and select tablets to watch and enjoy TV content.

This service is available as long as you have a working 3G, WiFi or broadband connection wherever you are in Ireland, all for no extra cost to existing Sky TV customers and available on up to two registered devices.

Go for the optional Sky Go Extra package at just €6 extra a month, allowing you to register two more additional devices, and more importantly this service enables you to download all content to watch later without the need to be always online.

What do i need to set up Sky Go?

You’ll need an existing Sky Original or Variety Bundle, which determines what channels you’ll be able to watch on Sky Go for free. A compatible mobile device is also required, with iPad, iPhone (3GS and above), laptop (PC or Mac) Xbox 360 (Xbox LIVE Gold subscription required) and select Android devices (smartphones and tablets running Android 2.2, 2.3, 4.0, 4.1, 4.2 and 4.2.1) all supported. Finally, you’ll need a 3G, WiFi or broadband connection to begin watching.

Why should I upgrade to Sky Go Extra?

With Sky Go Extra you’ll be able to download popular movies and entertainment programmes to watch offline wherever you are. In addition, you’ll be able to register two extra devices, allowing you four devices in total to access the service.

Avoid signal loss issues and extra charges on broadband connections with limited usage by downloading box sets via WiFi to enjoy at a later time. Experience uninterrupted service without worrying about mobile data telephony charges. For additional flexibility, Sky Go Extra allows you to download different content to four devices, while simultaneously watching streamed content to two devices.
