Flogas Ireland supports Drogheda Enterprise Centre
Flogas makes €5,000 donation to the new Drogheda Enterprise Centre
Flogas Ireland was thrilled recently to show support for the Drogheda Enterprise Centre, by way of a donation of €5,000.
The company’s managing director, Richard Martin, presented the cheque to Graham O’Rourke, chairman of the Drogheda Enterprise Centre, on March 12th, 2013, at the Flogas Customer Support Centre, which is situated in Drogheda at Knockbrack House, Donore Road.
Mr. Martin spoke of his delight at, together with other local companies, “supporting this very worthy project”. Mr. Martin added that he saw the project as being “a catalyst” for business in the area, by helping entrepreneurs and enterprises.
At present, the Drogheda Enterprise Centre is undergoing construction, but is scheduled to be open by the end of this year. There will be space and support provided at the Centre for as many as 16 emerging companies and more than 40 jobs in the area. This will result in the local economy benefiting to the tune of €2.5million.
A one-stop-shop will be provided by the Centre, which will allow for state support agencies, regarding the Greater Drogheda area, to efficiently offer both enterprise programmes and greater support.
Speaking on behalf of his Board of Directors, Drogheda Enterprise Centre chairman Graham O’Rourke was grateful to Flogas Ireland for the company’s “very generous financial contribution” towards helping the Centre. Mr. O’Rourke said that during times of high unemployment in the area it was important to offer opportunities to people, and to combine the “spirit of self-help with local endeavour.”
Flogas Ireland are known to be one of Ireland’s biggest providers of LP Gas and Natural Gas, for both the residential and commercial sector. The Flogas LP and Natural Gas divisions are comprised of 135 employees, most of whom work at the customer support centre in Knockbrack House, Drogheda.
