Nominations announced for Switcher.ie's annual Broadband Awards
The awards are Ireland's only customer-voted awards for broadband and TV.
The fourth annual Switcher.ie Broadband Awards are taking place on 22 February, in The Marker hotel.
The nominees and winners are decided using a unique combination of independent consumer research, over 30,000 customer ratings, and a panel of industry experts.
There will be 11 awards presented on the night, including Best Broadband Provider, which recognises the broadband provider in Ireland that has achieved the highest overall customer ratings across all categories.
A full list of award categories and nominees is available on our dedicated Switcher.ie 2017 Broadband Awards page.
These awards are the only customer-voted awards of their kind in the country, which is really important, as they highlight what actual customers think of their provider’s performance across a range of areas like technical support, customer service and TV content.
Winners for 9 of the 11 categories will be selected based on a combination of thousands of customer ratings from Switcher.ie and results from an independent national consumer survey.
The final 2 categories will be decided by an independent judging panel, which comprises some of Ireland’s leading consumer technology journalists.
Awards help consumers to navigate the competitive broadband market
Speaking about the awards, Eoin Clarke, Managing Director of Switcher.ie noted that the broadband market is more competitive than ever, which can make it more difficult for consumers to figure out the best deal for them.
He added that the awards are part of Switcher.ie’s commitment to helping consumers navigate the market, saying:
“While our free broadband comparison tool allows consumers to easily compare broadband plans and bundles, our awards help them to make even more informed buying decisions, based on feedback and context from other consumers with real experience of these providers and plans.”
He said Switcher.ie has deliberately given consumers an active voice in these awards “because it is their experience and views that really count.”
