Energia wins €36 million public sector contract

Energia will provide gas to 705 state agencies, local authorities and hospitals over a two year period

Energia has won a bundled energy contract worth €36 million to supply gas to hundreds of state agencies, local authorities, schools, hospitals and public housing projects around Ireland.

The contract was awarded after a competitive tendering process and will see Energia provide gas to over 705 different sites and offices across Ireland over a two year period.

Sites included in the contract include the Houses of the Oireachtas, Dublin Castle, the National Gallery, Farmleigh, Kilmainham Gaol and the National Museum of Ireland.

The contract also includes a number of local and state agencies, cultural sites, schools and courts all over the country.

These contracts were bundled together to ensure the best value for money possible was achieved for Irish taxpayers when choosing an energy supplier. 

“We have developed a winning set of gas and electricity offerings for both public and private sector organisations throughout Ireland.”

Energia is one of the biggest suppliers of gas to the Irish business market, accounting for over 30% of gas supplies.
