SSE Airtricity introduce new 20% discount on electricity

SSE Airtricity is offering new and returning customers 20% discount on electricity and 10% on gas

Today, sees the launch of a new range of SSE Airtricity discounted electricity and dual fuel tariffs.

The supplier is now offering new and returning customers their biggest electricity discount to date, with up to 20% off its standard electricity unit rate.

This latest move means that SSE Airtricity is now offering customers in Ireland the cheapest electricity tariff, based on the national average consumption.

The new discount offers will come as welcome news for households looking to save on their gas and electricity bills this winter. Electricity Only SSE Airtricity’s 1 Year Electricity (Direct Debit & eBill) tariff represents the cheapest electricity deal, costing the average household €1,064 in the first year.

Customers switching from the most expensive electricity tariff in the market, to SSE Airtricity’s 20% discount can save up to €172 per year. To avail of the 20% discount electricity customers will need to opt to pay by direct debit and subscribe to online billing. Lower discounts are also available for those who opt for alternative payment and billing methods:

  • 1 Year Electricity (Direct Debit & Post) – 16% discount
  • 1 Year Electricity (No Direct Debit & eBill))- 10% discount
  • 1 Year Electricity (No Direct Debit & Post) – 6% discount

Cheapest electricity supplier on average

The table below highlights the current cheapest electricity tariffs available based on the national average consumption. Dual Fuel

SSE Airtricity is also offering improved dual fuel discounts with 20% off electricity and 10% off gas, available from today. New and returning dual fuel customers switching to SSE Airtricity can save up to €288 on the company’s standard gas and electricity unit rates by switching to its cheapest dual fuel tariff - 1 Year Dual Fuel. (Direct Debit & eBill). Lower discounts are also on offer with other billing and payment variations:

  • 1 Year Dual Fuel (Direct Debit & Post) – 16% off electricity & 8% off gas
  • 1 Year Dual Fuel (No Direct Debit & eBill) – 10% off electricity & 5% off gas
  • Dual Fuel (No Direct Debit & Post) – 6% off electricity & 3% off gas

€35 bonus offer

In addition to the new electricity and dual fuel discounts, SSE Airtricity has also enhanced its introductory credit bonus offer. From today customers who sign up online will be eligible to receive €35 credit on their first bill - an increase of €5 on the previous bonus.

Customers switching to the new discounted tariffs will need to enter into a 12 month contract, subject to a €50 early termination charge for electricity customers and €100 for dual fuel customers.

The discounts are only available for a limited period with both electricity and dual fuel offers set to end on 16 November.
