About Ecopower

Ecopower was established in Ireland, in 1996 as a renewable energy development company. Its main area of interest is the development and operation of on-shore wind energy developments.

Ecopower’s electricity trading company, Ecopower Supply, secured an Electricity Supply Licence from the CRU in 2011 and is a registered supplier generating 100% green and renewable energy from their five wind farms in Ireland.

Latest Ecopower price changes

Ecopower’s latest price change came into effect on 7 May 2022. The price rise saw an increase of 35% to standard electricity rates.

Previous price changes 2021-2022

  • Jan 2022: Prior to this, Ecopower’s last price change came into effect from 17 January 2022. It increased standard electricity rates by 15%..
  • October 2021: Ecopower announced that it was to increase its electricity rates by 20%, effective 8 October. This raised the average electricity bill by €197 per annum.

How does Ecopower generate electricity?

Ecopower generates 100% of its electricity from its wind farms.

The Commission for Regulation of Utilities (CRU) requires that energy suppliers disclose the sources they use to generate their energy each year. The fuel mix used by Ecopower in 2021 is outlined below.
