Here are the cheapest electricity, gas and dual fuel plans from Flogas. The table shows the average electricity, gas and dual fuel prices for the first year.

According to the CRU, the average electricity customer uses 4,200 kWh per year, while the average gas customer uses 11,000 kWh.

About Flogas

Flogas is a gas and electricity supplier, which entered the domestic Irish gas market in 2007. The company now supplies gas and electricity to over 40,000 homes in Ireland and recently acquired Just Energy and Be Energy, adding many more customers.

In March 1995 the Flogas company became a wholly-owned subsidiary of DCC plc., which is a leading supplier of Liquefied Petroleum Gas & Natural Gas in both Ireland and Britain.

Flogas price changes

In March 2021, Flogas announced that it was to increase its prices, effective 12 April.

  • Electricity rates to increase by 8.5% which will raise the average electricity bill by €96
  • Gas rates raised by 6.5% which will increase bills by €53 for the average gas customer

Prior to this, Flogas announced a 10% decrease to their residential natural gas prices which reduced the average standard gas bill by €78 per annum, from 1st November 2020.

In August 2018, Flogas increased its gas unit rates by 12.8% adding €92 onto the average annual gas bill.

Flogas fuel mix

The Commission for Regulation of Utilities (CRU) requires that energy suppliers disclose the sources they use to generate their energy each year.

If suppliers choose not to make a declaration, they are allocated the residual fuel mix, which is the fuel mix left over from the All Island fuel mix after individual supplier’s fuel mixes have been calculated. For 2019, Flogas was allocated the residual fuel mix.
