Panda (formerly known as Panda Power) is one of Ireland’s leading utility companies for waste management solutions and green energy. Panda sells green electricity, which is generated from renewable resources such as solar, wind and wave energy.

Panda launched electricity tariffs in the Irish market in 2015 and in 2018 launched dual fuel and gas tariffs. Panda now has over 60,000 energy customers in Ireland.

Panda is Ireland’s largest recycling company with over 360,000 customers and is part of the Beauparc Utility Group.

Panda price changes

In March 2022, Panda announced that it was to increase its prices, effective 1 May.

  • Electricity rates to increase by 14.7% which will raise the average electricity bill by €290
  • Gas rates raised by 14.9% which will increase bills by €207 for the average gas customer

In October 2021, Panda announced that it was to increase its prices, effective 22 November. This increase adds approximately €525 per annum to the average residential dual fuel bill

Prior to this, Panda’s last price change took place in October 2021, with a price hike of 11.3% to its standard electricity and gas rates. This increase saw an average increase in household electricity and gas bills by €172 and €130 per year, respectively.

In August 2021, Panda implemented a price hike of 5.4% to their standard electricity rates. This seen an average increase in household electricity bills by €79 per year.

How does Panda generate electricity?

The Commission for Regulation of Utilities (CRU) requires that electricity suppliers disclose the sources they use to generate their energy each year.

All of the electricity that Panda supplies to customers comes with a guarantee of origin certificate for energy from renewable sources.
