According to the CRU, the average electricity customer uses 4,200 kW/h per year, while the average gas customer uses 11,000 kW/h. You may use more or less, depending on the size of your household.

The company now supplies energy to over 800,000 home and business customers in Ireland, making it one of the biggest suppliers in the Irish energy market.
SSE Airtricity is a wholly-owned division of SSE plc, the broadest-based energy utility in the UK.
In April 2022, SSE Airtricity announced that it was to increase its prices, effective 1 May.
In October 2021, SSE Airtricity announced that it was to increase its prices, effective 1 December. This increase adds approximately €201 per annum to the average residential dual fuel bill.
Prior to this, SSE Airtricity’s last price change took place in August 2021 with a price hike of 10.6% and 10.7% to their standard electricity and gas rates, respectively. This seen an additional €202 added to the average dual fuel customer bill.
SSE Airtricity’s last price change took place in April 2021 which seen electricity and gas rates increase by 6.2% and 4.5%, respectively.
Prior to this, SSE Airtricity dropped it’s electricity unit rates by 2.7% and gas unit rates by 11.5%, effective 1 May 2020.
The Commission for Regulation of Utilities (CRU) requires that electricity suppliers disclose the sources they use to generate their energy each year. The fuel mix used by SSE Airtricity in 2020 is outlined below.
