TV3 Group is rebranding as Virgin Media Television
TV3, 3e and be3, will be renamed ‘Virgin Media One’, ‘Virgin Media Two’ and ‘Virgin Media Three’
Last week, it was announced that the TV3 Group is rebranding to Virgin Media Television, and with the rebrand we’ll be seeing some pretty significant changes to some of our favourite TV channels, as well as some new additions.
TV3, 3e and be3 rebranded to Virgin Media One, Virgin Media Two and Virgin Media Three
From the 30th of August, TV3, 3e and be3, will be rebranded as Virgin Media One, Virgin Media Two and Virgin Media Three.
Meanwhile 3 Player - the on-demand broadcast player - will be renamed ‘Virgin Media Player’.
New channel - Virgin Media Sport
On top of all this, a brand-new sports channel - Virgin Media Sport - is being launched, and will be exclusively available to Virgin Media customers. The channel will be the home of top class European football and the latest sports news.
Virgin Media Television will air over 450 top-level football matches in the coming season including:
- UEFA Champions League
- UEFA Europa League
- Qualifiers for UEFA EURO 2020
- Fixtures from the inaugural UEFA Nations League that begins in September.
Graeme Souness will head up the panel of experts on Virgin Media Sport.

Speaking about the rebrand, Virgin Media Ireland’s Group CEO, Tony Hanway, said; “This move sees us strengthen our position as Ireland’s leading connected entertainment provider. Bringing together our Broadband and Broadcasting networks under the unique Virgin Media brand is an exciting development for our viewers, our customers and everyone in Team Virgin Media.”
Meanwhile, TV3’s Group Managing Director, Pat Kiely, said that - as part of Virgin Media - the TV3 group’s channels have grown in scale and quality and now’s the time to build on this momentum by moving to Virgin Media Television.
He added: “Virgin Media One, the new name for TV3, will be the home of some of Ireland’s biggest and most popular shows with Virgin Media Two, Three and Sport giving our viewers and customers a diverse choice of great content. These are exciting times for media and we’re delighted to be at the forefront of the changing face of broadcasting in Ireland.”
