About the Awards

The Switcher Broadband Awards returned to Dublin’s spectacular Marker Hotel on April 20th for another night of prizes for Ireland’s top Broadband & TV providers.

Switcher Broadband Awards winners were determined by a combination of consumer surveys, verdicts from our judging panel. The fastest providers were determined by data from the 30,000 fibre, ADSL broadband speed tests conducted on our site annually.

John is the founder and the driving force behind the award winning IrishTechNews.ie. He loves technology in all its forms and is proud to be leading a dedicated team that is disrupting the status quo in media coverage. Stephen Conmy Mark Channing The Sunday Times

Mark Channing has been writing on consumer issues for the past 10 years. He writes a weekly consumer feature for the Sunday Times (Ireland) and has also been published in the Sunday Independent, the Sunday Business Post, the Irish Times and Business Plus magazine. Prior to his current position he was Editor of Consumer Choice magazine and acted as Money Editor for the Sunday Times (Ireland).

Ray Walsh Ray Walsh TVNow

A self-confessed telly addict, Ray is Contributing Editor of TVNow magazine and is the magazine’s resident TV critic. He has concentrated on writing about broadcasting and entertainment for the past 13 years. As well as editing the magazine, he appears regularly on Today FM and Sunshine 106.8 to talk about television and entertainment. He has been a journalist for 19 years, working in both the UK and Ireland on publications such as Prima, Good Housekeeping and The Independent.

Niall Kitson Niall Kitson TechCentral.ie

Niall Kitson is editor of online news resource TechCentral.ie. Previously editor of PC Live!, Niall has been tracking the roll-out of broadband in Ireland since 2006, when copper connections were considered state-of-the-art. On top of his editing duties he manages to find time for the weekly TechRadio podcast and has contributed comment to local and national radio stations, newspapers and, occasionally, television.
