Lycamobile’s National S

You could opt for Lycamobile’s National S plan which works out cheaper if you don’t need unlimited calls and texts or very much data.

Lycamobile’s network coverage

Lycamobile is a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO), which means that rather than having its own network, it uses one that’s already established to provide its customers with network service.

Lycamobile runs off Three’s network, which has 99% 4G coverage across Ireland.

What this means is that if you have good reception from Three, Lycamobile will work well for you, too.

You can check Lycamobile coverage in your area using the ComReg Outdoor Mobile Coverage Map.

Lycamobile FAQs

Can I upgrade or change my Lycamobile SIM-only plan?

If you sign up to a Lycamobile 30-day SIM-only deal, you will be able to upgrade or change your plan easily, as you’re not tied into a long contract.

Does Lycamobile have a fair usage policy?

Lycamobile has an EU/EEA roaming policy which covers fair usage. Their roaming services are intended for short breaks and if you’re spending more time roaming than at home, you’ll be asked to comply with the policy.

Lycamobile’s ‘always on data’ option is the closest to ‘unlimited’ that they offer. On this, they say that if your data usage exceeds 60GB in a 30 day bundle cycle and affects other users, they may limit your data speed.

How do I cancel my Lycamobile bundle?

Your bundle with automatically renew unless you cancel its auto renewal. To do this you can either:

  1. Dial *190# the day before the bundle expires
  2. Call customer services on 1923 the day before the bundle expires

You’ll be reminded when its time to top up and given the option not to renew then too.

What is a SIM-only plan?

A SIM-only plan allows you to just pay for data, calls and texts. When you sign up you’ll get a SIM card with an allocation of data, texts and minutes, but the deal won’t include a phone.

SIM-only plans are generally cheaper and will save you money if you already have a phone you are happy with.
