NOW TV’s ‘no strings’ streaming service launches in Ireland
With no contract, this could be a good way to check out content without the commitment.
Earlier this month, Sky launched NOW TV in Ireland. The streaming service has already been proven a big hit in the UK since it launched five years ago, and now Irish TV fans will have the opportunity to stream shows, movies and live sport without a contract.
Once you sign up, you can start streaming content instantly by choosing from a range of Passes.
Whether you’re interested in sports, entertainment or cinema, there’s a pass for you - and you can watch content directly through your preferred device.
Now TV Passes
The Passes are divided into three different categories - so you have a choice between entertainment and boxsets, movies, or sports.
- The NOW TV Entertainment Month Pass costs €15 per month and unlocks shows like Game of Thrones, Billions, Big Little Lies and Ex on the Beach. This pass also includes over 250 box sets on demand, as well as access to 10 channels not available on free-to-air, such as Sky Atlantic, Sky Living, Discovery Channel and MTV. There’s also a catch-up service for these channels, so you can watch when it suits you. Sign up to the Entertainment Month Pass now »

A “no strings relationship” with TV
Speaking about the launch of NOW TV, Ann-Marie MacKay, Sales and Marketing Director at Sky and NOW TV Ireland, said that NOW TV works for customers “looking for a no strings relationship with their TV”.
She added: “Designed for those who want to stream brilliant content without committing to a contract - whether that’s diving into the drama of Game of Thrones, laughing along with the latest must-see movie or feeling the pressure during a Lions test match. Customers simply sign up, choose a pass and start streaming on whatever device they want.”
How NOW TV works
In order to get started with NOW TV, you simply need to sign up to the Pass you want and start watching.
NOW TV is available on multiple devices, including PC or Mac, iOS and Android phones or tablets. In terms of streaming, NOW TV requires a minimum download speed of 2.5Mbps, 3G or 4G.
Outside of your own devices, you can also watch any NOW TV Pass on your TV via the new NOW TV Box. This TV box gives you catch up TV from the likes of All 4 and TV3’s 3player, as well as access to apps, such as YouTube and Vevo.
The NOW TV box connects to your TV via a HDMI cable, which is supplied with the box. It’s available with a two-month Entertainment or Cinema bundle for €40.
