Rocket Broadband becomes SIRO's fifth retail partner

This is SIRO's latest partnership with a regional broadband provider.

This morning, SIRO announced that Rocket Broadband has become its fifth retail partner.

The broadband provider will now launch 100% fibre-optic broadband packages in Wexford town, with speeds ranging from 150Mbps to 1Gbps, priced from €45 per month.

Rocket Broadband has provided broadband services in Wexford since 2006, serving over 5,000 customers in the county. They decided to partner with SIRO as they had a high level of demand from their existing customer base for access to high speed broadband services.

Commenting on the announcement, Ronan Whelan, Commercial Director of SIRO, said that the Rocket Broadband partnership is indicative of the high level of demand from telecoms companies for an alternative national broadband infrastructure.

He added that SIRO is having a “transformative effect” in the towns it is already live in and, as a result, “local businesses will be able to compete online with any rival company”.

Garrett McElroy, General Manager of Rocket Broadband, added: “Our customers will now be guaranteed the best broadband in the country, delivered at the speed of light, using SIRO’s 100% fibre-optic network.

“Rather than having to invest millions in building our own fibre network, we now have access to the best technology in the country, which gives us a great opportunity to attract new customers.”
