Get your hands on speeds of up to 500Mbps thanks to Virgin Media's broadband revamp

Virgin Media has launched brand new broadband plans to help deliver a customised, faster and more reliable service.

Virgin Media has this week launched a complete revamp of their broadband products and services which will deliver faster speeds and the opportunity for customers to really personalise their home broadband package.

Faster, more reliable speeds

Firstly let’s take a look at the new speed offerings - all new and existing Virgin Media customers can now get their hands on up to 500Mbps broadband starting at just €39 a month for the first six months! They have also introduced packages with speeds of up to 250Mb and 350Mb to cater to different individual household budgets if you’re not too worried about having the 500Mbps speeds.

More customised packages

The product revamp also includes the removal of Virgin Media’s traditional dual play plans broadband + TV and broadband + home phone) for new customers, in order to give consumers the opportunity to customise their own package. This means customers will now have the option to tack on home phone, the Virgin Media Sports App and Unlimited SIM as extra add ons when they take up a Virgin Media broadband only plan.

For those wanting to include a World Talk home phone add on to their package it will cost an extra €3 per month. But if you’re more interested in unlimited World Talk then you can add this on for an extra €5 a month. Tacking on the Virgin Media Sports App will also cost you an additional €5 a month, whereas adding the Unlimited SIM will cost you nothing at all to include for the first three months (price increases to €25 a month thereafter).

There’s also great value to be had right now on Virgin Media’s new triple play bundles with the 500Mbps, 350Mbps and 250Mbps broadband, TV and home phone packages all available for just €39 per month for the first six months (prices increase thereafter).

Eoin Clarke, Managing Director of says that the introduction of these new products and speeds further demonstrates Virgin Media’s ongoing endeavour to provide consumers with faster broadband and more customised options when it comes to keeping their home connected.

This news follows last month’s Awards whereby Virgin Media took home awards for Best Customer Benefits, Best Customer Rated Home Broadband and Fastest Home Broadband.
