Sky Arts plan major investment in Irish art organisation

€230,000 investment up for grabs for successful Sky Arts Ignition applicant

Sky Arts is planning to invest heavily in Ireland arts, with a commitment to invest €230,000 in the latest Sky Arts Ignition application.

The successful applicant will be given the funding money for a new project, which both organisations will co-develop, together with input from any contributing artists.

Sky Arts said in their statement that the winning organisation would be provided with support in marketing and new media, as every effort would be made to help the project reach the widest audience possible.

The Sky Arts Ignition project, and the third of the series, will be open, and is now exclusive to Irish arts organisations.

Director of Sky Arts, James Hunt, commented that it was a “fantastic way” of supporting the country’s “cultural vibrancy”. Reflecting positively on working with British institutions, Mr. Hunt said that he was “excited” about new partnerships now being created in Ireland, and that he looked forward to delivering “a thrilling new project.”

The Sky Arts Ignition series is now accepting applications, and entry guidelines are available on their website, The applications deadline is April 2nd, 2013.
