With Moone Boy set to return to Sky 1 and Sky 1 HD on 17th February, the stars of the show have marked the occasion with a special radio ad.

Chris O’Dowd and David Rawle, the lead characters in the Sky show, have teamed up to record an exclusive copy of ‘(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life’, especially for Irish fans.

The soundtrack from the finale of the 1980s cult classic Dirty Dancing appears in the second episode of the new series, in a memorable school disco scene.

Martin Moone and his imaginary friend Sean give the iconic dance scene – made famous by Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey – the full Moone Boy treatment.

The ad will appear on the airwaves from 13th February and will run for three weeks across a vast number of national and regional radio stations.

For fans wishing to hear the ad, Today FM, FM104, Q102, Cork’s 96FM, LMFM, Beat 102-103, Galway Bay FM and Limerick Live 95 are all set to advertise the Sky programme.

The show, written by Mr O’Dowd and Nick Vincent Murphy, and set in the late 1980’s / early 1990’s, is said to be loosely based on O’Dowd’s own childhood experiences.

The second segment of the Emmy award-winning series will be shown at 9pm on Sky 1 from Monday 17th February.

It will then also be on Sky’s Catch Up TV service, while the first episode of Series 1 can be found on Sky’s YouTube channel.

The TV provider is also providing the rest of Series 1, as well as the first episode of Series 2, on its On Demand service.
