Sky launch new Sky Movies Superheroes channel

Fans of superhero movies are in for a treat as Sky Movies launch an entire channel, Sky Movies Superheroes, devoted to the iconic figures

The channel will replace the existing Sky Movies Greats HD for a two week period from August 17th to September 1st.

The superhero channel will broadcast the action movies 24/7 during this period.

Subscribers in Ireland and can enjoy all the action on Sky Movies Superheroes via an array of routes, including Sky Go and Sky Go Extra online, and using the On Demand service.

The channel will feature a host of box-office hit movies featuring many of the genres biggest stars including Superman, Batman, the Fantastic Four and the X-Men characters, and will close the run with two theme days devoted to Marvel superheroes (Saturday 31st August) and DC Comics characters (Sunday 1st September).

The line up includes some of the biggest blockbusters of recent years including the Dark Knight Rises, Marvel’s Avengers Assemble and Men in Black.

Fans of animation are well catered for with offerings such as The Incredibles, and the channel will give viewers the chance to see collections of movies, such as various incarnations of Batman and Spiderman films featuring Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield in the title role.

Sky Movies has enjoyed great success with its periodic provision of channels devoted entirely to a particular genre or character, such as the ever-popular James Bond movies, and the two week broadcast of Sky Movies Superheroes should delight fans of the comic book blockbuster genre.
